Education
I have more than five years of experience in education, as a teacher, a teacher's mentor, an education specialist and a content writer. Most of that work was in Armenia, in both formal and non-formal settings, and much of it came down to one thing: getting good teaching to students who would not otherwise have had it.
Here is what I have been part of. I was selected for a qualification program run by the Ministry of Education of Armenia with UNICEF and Teach for Armenia, and trained as part of the first generation of mentors responsible for the country's transition to inclusive education. As an inclusive education specialist I mentored more than 60 teachers across over five schools, helping them build classrooms where children of all abilities learn together. I have also mentored teenagers through startup initiatives, and I speak at conferences and workshops on education. I started teaching in my second year of undergraduate studies, at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, building robotics content and running workshops for teenagers. After that I taught physics and led the astronomy club at Shirakatsy Scientific Educational Complex. When the COVID lockdown shut Armenia's schools, I was one of 20 teachers chosen to build the country's official remote physics lessons, and I created more than 50 video lessons that the Ministry of Education accredited as part of the national curriculum.
